Alaev included Alonso, Wendel and Cordoba in the top foreign players of the first part of the RPL season
President of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Alexander Alaev named the best foreign players of the first part of the season. His words are quoted by “Championship”.
The head of the RPL included in the top three foreign football players the Paraguayan defender Junior Alonso and the Colombian striker John Cordoba, representing Krasnodar, as well as the Brazilian midfielder of Zenit Wendel.
Previously, the best players of the first part of the national championship were chosen by former Russian national team player Andrei Arshavin. “It seems to me that the best should be chosen from those who come in first place. Today it is Krasnodar. So I would say Cordoba and [Эдуарда] Spertsyan,” he said.
Krasnodar leads the standings with 38 points. Zenit is second with 36 points. The championship went on a winter break and will resume on March 3.
