Golovin appreciated Karpin’s call for players to go to Europe

Footballer Golovin called it necessary to go to European championships for growth

Russian midfielder “Monaco” Alexander Golovin, in an interview with the YouTube channel of journalist Nobel Arustamyan, appreciated the call of the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin for his players to go to the European championships.

The footballer called it necessary to go to European championships for growth. “Karpin doesn’t say to leave, run away or anything like that. He meant to leave to raise his football level,” he said. Golovin refused to condemn the players remaining in Russia, believing that they could be attracted by the salary.

On September 12, Karpin called on Russian players to leave for European clubs. He noted that he advised leaving the RPL many times. The coach explained that he feels the difference between the level of the national team players who play in Europe and those who remain at home.

Golovin moved to Monaco from CSKA Moscow in 2018. The transfer cost the French team 30 million euros.
