Spartak responded to information about Vitoria’s refusal to voluntarily leave the club

The head of the press service of the Moscow “Spartak” Dmitry Zelenov commented on the information that the Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria in a harsh manner refused to leave the club. His words are quoted by “Sport-Express”.

“No that’s not true. All information is in a press release, ”Zelenov replied. He stressed that the decision was made jointly, and the contract was terminated voluntarily, by agreement of the parties.

Earlier on December 15, “Spartak” fired Vitoria from the post of head coach. The specialist has led the Moscow team since May 21, 2021. He is also known for working with Portuguese Benfica, Pacos de Ferreira and other clubs.

Under the leadership of the Portuguese, the red and white won a ticket to the playoffs of the Europa League, taking first place in the group. After 18 matches of the Russian championship, the team is in ninth place, gaining 23 points.
