Iranian handball player disappears at the World Cup

Iranian handball player Shagaye Bapiri went missing at the World Championships in Spain. Reported by TV2.

On December 14, the 30-year-old athlete left in an unknown direction and disappeared without a trace. This information was confirmed by the International Handball Federation (IHF). Representatives of the organizing committee of the World Cup said they had contacted the police to investigate the incident.

On December 8, at the World Championships, four handball players of the Cameroon national team disappeared. The athletes did not show up for coronavirus testing. They were last seen on the evening of December 7, when they were taking a taxi from the hotel.

In July this year, Ugandan weightlifter Julius Ssekitoleko disappeared during the Tokyo Olympics. The athlete disappeared before the scheduled coronavirus test. The athlete left a message in which he explained that he did not want to return to Uganda, as life there is difficult.
