Ex-hockey player Gretzky said that Devils player Hughes is most like him
Four-time Stanley Cup winner Wayne Gretzky named the National Hockey League (NHL) player most like him. His words are quoted by the “Championship” with reference to BR Open Ice.
Gretzky said that New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes is most similar to him. “In the sense that, first of all, he is faster than me and sees the ice incredibly well. He reached a whole new level as a hockey player,” explained the ex-NHL player.
In the regular season of the 2023/2024 season, Hughes played 26 matches, in which he scored 14 goals and 24 assists. The Devils are in sixth place in the Metropolitan Division of the Eastern Conference with 34 points.
Gretzky is the leading scorer in NHL history. During his career, he scored 894 goals.
