Tarasova: figure skaters need to do a control weigh-in before the performance
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova, live on Channel One, ridiculed the form of Russian figure skater Maria Talalaikina at the Russian Championships in Chelyabinsk.
The specialist did not like the performance of the 21-year-old athlete in the short program of the tournament. “I don’t want to offend anyone. But… it is necessary to carry out a control weigh-in before going out to an audience of five thousand. In my opinion,” she said.
Talalaikina skated under the Italian flag from December 2021 to October 2022. She returned to Russia to the group of coach Evgeniy Rukavitsyn.
Under his leadership, Talalaikina trained until the end of the 2020/2021 season. She became a bronze medalist in the stages and finals of the Russian Cup. At the national championships of the 2021 season, the figure skater took ninth place.
