Figure skater Evgeny Semenenko became two-time Russian champion
Figure skater Evgeny Semenenko won the 2024 Russian Championship in men’s single skating. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The athletes presented their free program on Friday, December 22. Semenenko received a total of 294.75 points and beat Vladislav Dikidzhi (293.74), who became second, as well as Peter Gumennik (292.42), who won bronze. All three winners represent St. Petersburg. Semenenko became a two-time Russian champion.
The Russian Championship 2024 takes place in Chelyabinsk from December 21 to 23. In men’s single skating, the second set of awards was awarded. Previously, Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin won gold in ice dancing.
On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union (ISU) banned Russians and Belarusians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Due to sanctions, skaters were unable to take part in the World and European Championships, as well as in other international tournaments.
