Secretary General of the Football Union of Serbia Surbatovich: the game with Russia will be held on March 21
The General Secretary of the Football Union of Serbia, Jovan Surbatovich, announced the date and location of the friendly match with the Russian national team. Sport24 reports this.
The functionary confirmed the facts of obtaining permission from UEFA and the agreement with the RFU. “The game will take place on March 21 in Moscow at the Dynamo stadium,” said Surbatovich.
The Russian national team played its last friendly match on November 20 in Volgograd. Valery Karpin’s team defeated the Cuban team with a score of 8:0.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team lost the opportunity to compete for access to the final part of the 2022 World Cup and does not participate in the Euro 2024 qualifications.
