Plyushchev: Putin was incorrectly informed about the mass outflow of young hockey players abroad

Former coach of the Russian national team Vladimir Plyushchev spoke about the departure of young hockey players abroad. He is quoted by RT.

According to Pluschev, Russian President Vladimir Putin was incorrectly informed about the mass exodus of young athletes to foreign clubs. “All conditions for the development of juniors in the country have been created. More often, parents with children who are not in demand in Russian hockey go abroad,” he emphasized.

On October 21, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin announced that the department, together with the State Duma, would develop restrictions on the travel of talented Russian hockey players abroad. “Let’s see how we can protect the interests of Russian hockey, athletes, coaches and sports schools in order to limit the departure of talented athletes,” he said.

On October 19, the President of Russia called for an investigation into the transfers of young Russian hockey players to foreign clubs. “We need to understand what we should do with these hockey businessmen who take children from sports schools and drag them abroad,” Putin said.
