The winners of the Russian Figure Skating Championship will receive 2.5 million rubles. The amount of the prize money was announced by the General Director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), Alexander Kogan, whose words are reported by RIA Novosti.
Kogan said that silver medalists will receive 1.5 million, bronze medalists – 1 million. “We kept the prize money for all athletes in full so that there was sufficient motivation,” he noted.
The Russian Championship will be held in Chelyabinsk from December 20 to 24. The current champions of the country are singles skaters Sofya Akatieva and Evgeniy Semenenko, dancers Elizaveta Khudayberdieva and Yegor Bazin, as well as the sports couple Alexandra Boykova – Dmitry Kozlovsky.
Russian figure skaters do not compete at international tournaments due to sanctions from the International Skating Union, which have been in effect since March 2022.
