Putin instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to present ideas for sports parades on Red Square
Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to submit proposals for holding sports parades on Red Square by March 1, 2024. This was reported on the Kremlin website.
The head of state is awaiting relevant ideas from the Cabinet of Ministers; Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has been appointed responsible for the execution of the order.
In October, Vladimir Putin, at the international forum “Russia is a Sports Power,” supported the idea of reviving the holding of sports parades on Red Square. A corresponding proposal was made by the head of the International Boxing Association, Umar Kremlev.
On December 14, during the “Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin,” the head of state responded to sanctions against Russian sports. He called them “a complete contradiction, a perversion of Pierre de Coubertin’s ‘O sport, you are the world.'”
