Istanbulspor head Saryalioglu led the club off the field in a match against Trabzonspor
The president of the Turkish club Istanbulspor, Ejmel Saryalioglu, led the team off the field during the match of the 17th round of the Turkish championship against Trabzonspor. TRT Haber reports this.
According to the source, the reason was the team head’s dissatisfaction with the actions of the referee. The incident occurred in the 73rd minute when the score was 2:0 in favor of Trabzonspor. A few minutes earlier, the referee counted the team’s second goal after a video review. It is noted that the final decision regarding the cancellation of the match will be made by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).
After 15 matches, Istanbulspor is in last, 20th place in the Turkish Championship standings, gaining eight points. Trabzonspor is in fourth place with 26 points.
On December 12, TFF suspended the national championship. The reason was an incident in the match of the 15th round of the tournament between Ankaragucu and Rizespor (1:1), when Ankaragucu president Faruk Koca beat referee Halil Umut Meler. The referee fell on the lawn, after which he was hospitalized.
