In the 2023 season, the Liga de Quito celebrated two titles that enrich its history: the Copa Sudamericana and the Liga Pro, competitions that rewarded the outstanding campaign completed by the albos.
Despite this, the university environment, be it players or management, could not stop remembering Barcelona SC during the various celebrations.
With regard to last week’s presidency of the Toreadors, Alfaro Moreno said that Esteban Paz, the white manager, will celebrate his departure. “Some managers, including Esteban Paz, will celebrate the end of the year with a smile. That’s clear to me,” said the toreador, who recalled the “nervousness” of the album after Barcelona SC won the title at Casa Blanca in 2020, a scenario in which the yellows ended their 25-year winless streak this season. “I don’t expect that I to love after all that,” said Alfaro Moreno.
“It was more important for somebody to win here and break the undefeated record, but it didn’t matter to us, it was more important to achieve things, do things and lift trophies, keep working on the road because we never gave up despite the hard knock,” Peace said.
Now it was Diego Castro’s turn, the manager of the club from Quito, who ironically “congratulated” the Canaries for beating them in the Pro League matches.
“Alfaro Moreno was beating his chest last week saying that he won the Liga twice and that Esteban Paz should remember that,” the journalist asked sarcastically.
“It is true that Barcelona should be congratulated, they managed to beat the best team of the year and they should be congratulated for that. “What can I do?” remarked the host ironically.
“If it’s their victory for them, I congratulate them, if another undefeated team falls, I congratulate them, because that’s football,” Castro concluded in Federation of Posters. (D)
