Krasnodar coach Ivich said that stadiums in Russia are better than in England
Krasnodar head coach Vladimir Ivich compared Russian stadiums with European ones. His words are quoted by HotSport.
“Russia has excellent playing conditions, and the fact that the 2018 World Cup was held at an incredible level speaks for itself. The stadiums in Russia are better and more modern than in England,” said the specialist, noting that Russia attaches great importance to football.
The Serbian coach has been working at Krasnodar, the leader of the first half of the Russian Premier League season, since January 2023. Previously, he headed Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Greek PAOK and the English Watford.
Earlier, three-time Olympic figure skating champion Irina Rodnina refused to consider football the number one sport in Russia. “The popularity of football in the country is exaggerated. Every major competition we make sure that our players are nothing of themselves,” she said.
