Latvian kickboxer Glukhov announced problems with obtaining Russian citizenship
Latvian kickboxing world champion Konstantin Glukhov spoke about the problems with obtaining Russian citizenship. His words are quoted by journalist Andrei Medvedev on Telegram.
Glukhov complained that he and his minor daughter faced a very difficult procedure for obtaining citizenship. “Despite the fact that my wife is a Russian citizen, departments and departments send to each other. And I can’t even get a free consultation on where to start,” the athlete noted, adding that he received political asylum in June.
The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, responded to the situation in her Telegram channel. She stated that the head of the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for migration issues, Valentina Kazakova, contacted Glukhov, and the athlete’s documents will be carefully studied.
Glukhov is a world and European kickboxing champion. The 43-year-old athlete has 55 wins and 24 losses, with another fight ending in a draw. He also took part in fights according to the rules of mixed martial arts and boxing.
