The ROC expressed support for athletes wishing to compete at the Olympics

Pozdnyakov said that neutral athletes will not be provided with financial support

The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) spoke about financial support for athletes wishing to compete at the Olympics in Paris with a neutral status. The words of the head of the organization, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, are quoted by TASS.

“Among the athletes who will receive payments, there will be no athletes who accepted “neutralization.” The ROC will not support athletes with a neutral status,” Pozdnyakov said.

Earlier, the President of the ROC criticized the conditions for the admission of domestic athletes to the 2024 Olympic Games. “By choosing neutralization, the athlete becomes a hostage to other people’s interests,” he said. At the same time, Pozdnyakov added that OCD is ready to help every athlete understand the situation.

On December 8, the International Olympic Committee allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in Paris. Athletes will be able to take part in the tournament only in a neutral status. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine and have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not get to Paris. Representatives of team sports will also miss the tournament.
