Real Sociedad approves the highest budget in its history: 161 million euros
The Real society has held its 2023 General Shareholders’ Meeting this Thursday at the Kursaal Congress Palace in San Sebastián, where it approved the highest budget of its history: 161 million euros.
“We consider that Real has solid accounts. Last year was not easy, since it was a complicated management, but it has allowed us to have a present and prosperous future for the club,” highlighted the club president, Jokin Aperribay, at the beginning of the event.
He then went on to assess the positive balance of 5.7 million euros that the club presents in this last year.
The club has to pay a total of 29.8 million eurosdistributed in loans with financial institutions (6.1) and debts for the purchase of players (23.7), something that is alleviated by the amounts to be collected from other clubs for the sale of players that amounts to 35.1 million euros.
A comparison of own funds as of the date of June 30, 2009when the club was immersed in a bankruptcy and on the verge of disappearance, funds that were negative in 40.3 million euros. Instead, to June 30, 2023these own funds are 62.3 million.
The president of La Real also pointed out that the possibility of expanding in 1,700 seats capacity of the Reale Arena.
The club will ask permission from the city council to be able to undertake this expansion, in which it is also contemplated to undertake a remodeling of the press area “which is in very poor condition”, according to Aperribay.
