According to the expert, physical activity is an excellent prevention of these diseases. “In particular, this was confirmed by a large study involving more than half a million volunteers aged 20 to 70 years. The best recipe for longevity turned out to be a combination of strength and aerobic exercises of varying intensity,” noted Eruslanova.
The doctor added that until recently, the attitude towards strength training in older age was wary and even negative. “However, over the past couple of years, a large number of studies have been published that have shown that adding such physical activity to other types of activity, even with senile asthenia, in weakened people, has a positive effect on health. Today, people of all ages are recommended to do two strength training sessions per week. At the same time, correct individual selection of exercises and compliance with safety rules are very important,” said Eruslanova.
