A Chechen bare-knuckle fighter spoke about fights as a child in the Tver region

Chechen bare-knuckle fighter Shakhgiriev said that he often fought as a child

Chechen fighter of the TOP DOG fist fighting promotion Sulambek Shakhgiriev spoke about his childhood in the Tver region. He spoke out in an interview with Lenta.ru.

“I was born in a Tver village, grew up in Krasny Kholm – in fact, it’s not even a city, but an urban-type settlement, a real province with all that it implies. There were a lot of conflicts, fights on the street and at school. Then the second Chechen war had just ended, and the attitude towards the guys from the Caucasus was difficult. Nobody cared that I was born in the Tver region,” said Shakhgiriev.

The athlete added that he never pursued street romanticism, and all the fights arose by chance. “I was going about my business, I saw that someone was being discriminated against, I came up and helped. Well, or the same thing happened in a cafe – when people drink, some kind of skirmishes often break out,” Shakhgiriev noted.

27-year-old Shakhgiriev has been performing in TOP DOG since December 2021. As part of the promotion, he had eight fights, in which he scored six victories and suffered two defeats.
