This Wednesday afternoon, Antonio Alvarez Henriques took over as president of Barcelona SC, succeeding Carlos Alejandro Alfaro Moreno in that role.
After the ceremony held at the Banco Pichincha stadium, the businessman spoke about the goals he has in this administration, and he was cautious when it comes to reinforcements for 2024.
“We have been working for a few weeks in silence, some things have been done that have not been seen yet, which will certainly be known next week through the club’s social networks,” he said.
“They will find out (reinforcements), let’s not get nervous, let’s go step by step, calm down, there is time. The transfer window starts in January and ends in March, there is still a lot to talk about,” added the new owner from the Canary Islands.

Regarding his arrival at the club, he indicated that he did not imagine being in the position he now occupies and highlighted the work done by Carlos Alfaro Moreno, his predecessor.
“Alfaro Moreno’s presidential term was one of the best in the history of the club, because he knew how to balance the economic and sports, which is very difficult,” he said.
“He was competitive in these four years, he left economic returns in the pandemic year (2020), he was really fantastic,” Alvarez added.
And he added: “Nothing in life is easy, if we are here it is for a reason.” I trust in God who is my guide and I am here for a reason, it is not by chance. I didn’t ask for it, and I’m a very hard working, business man. I know what we need and the goals Barcelona SC needs.” (D)
