Olympic ski champion Yulia Stupak said that the Games cannot be replaced by anything
Olympic cross-country champion Yulia Stupak shared her opinion about the Olympic Games. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Stupak said that the Games cannot be replaced by anything. “This is a feeling that you can’t experience anywhere else. Feelings that are given to you only when you are standing on the pedestal. This is how our life is structured: from and until the Olympics,” the Russian woman noted, emphasizing that it’s not about regalia or money.
Stupak competed under a neutral flag at two Olympics – Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022. At the Games she won one gold and three bronze medals.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the 2024 Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games.
