Latvian boxer Akhmetov knocked down the absolute world champion Shields
Latvian boxer Artur Akhmetov knocked down the absolute middleweight champion, American Claressa Shields. Marca reports.
According to the US athlete, this happened five years ago during sparring. She also accused her opponent of taking the lining out of her gloves.
Akhmetov’s coach Derick Santos denied Shields’ words. “The gloves were handed over to her trainer. Arthur was instructed not to hit her too hard,” the specialist emphasized.
Akhmetov had seven fights in the professional ring. He has six wins and one loss. Shields is the only professional boxer to have held all four major titles in two weight classes. The athlete has 14 victories in 14 fights. The 28-year-old American also competes under the rules of mixed martial arts.
