Minister of Sports Matvey Bedny: Ukraine will participate in the 2024 Olympics
Acting Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matvey Bedny made a new statement on the country’s participation in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti with reference to the Rada TV channel.
Poor stated that the country would participate in the competition. He called the Olympics a powerful platform for discussing a special operation that would not be worth losing. “We have a little more than six months to do everything to prevent the Russians from getting there,” the politician emphasized.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Games in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support the SVO, as well as those who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus, will not be allowed.
After this, Ukraine stated that they did not exclude the option of boycotting the 2024 Games. The country added that they would make a decision on participation in the tournament later.
