Conor McGregor called Petr Yan a phenomenal MMA fighter from Russia
Irish mixed style (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor spoke about Russian Petr Yan. His words are quoted by Soviet Sport.
The athlete called Yan a phenomenal fighter from Russia. “I’m confident that he will regain the championship belt,” McGregor said.
Yang is a former UFC bantamweight champion. He spent his last fight in the UFC in March of this year at the UFC Fight Night 221 tournament, where he lost to Georgian Merab Dvalishvili by unanimous decision. In his two previous fights, he lost by split decision to Americans Sean O’Malley and Aljamain Sterling. In total, the athlete won 17 victories with five defeats in fights according to MMA rules.
McGregor is a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion. The Irishman had his last fight in July 2021 against American Dustin Poirier, when he suffered a broken leg, from which he is still recovering. In total, he has 22 wins and six losses.
