Russian Islanders goalkeeper Sorokin spoke about Manhattan taking away energy
Russian goalkeeper of the National Hockey League (NHL) New York Islanders Ilya Sorokin spoke about his reluctance to live in Manhattan. His words are quoted by Sport24.
“Over the past four years, I’ve been to Manhattan four times, not counting games. I don’t really see much of Manhattan life. I do not like. This is a very energy-intensive city, it takes away energy,” he shared. The goalkeeper said that he prefers a quieter life, so he really likes it on Long Island.
Sorokin has been defending the Islanders colors since the 2020/2021 season. This season he has played 17 matches for the team.
Earlier, Russian St. Louis Blues striker Pavel Buchnevich spoke about life in New York while playing for the New York Rangers. “I constantly went to Brooklyn to a Russian bathhouse like Sandunov. You walk in and there’s such a three-story mat!” – he remembered.
