Beijing 2022 Olympic champion in the ski relay Veronika Stepanova in her Telegram channel appreciated the refusal of the Russian artistic gymnastics team to participate in the World Cup stages.
The athlete supported the opinion of the team’s senior coach Valentina Rodionenko and was glad to see women with strong character and self-esteem in Russian sports. “Either go to participate on equal terms or let them go through the Norwegian forest,” she said.
On December 10, Rodionenko said that gymnasts would miss competitions until the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) changes the eligibility criteria for Russians. However, in her opinion, this will not happen.
