Alexander Povetkin refused to name the favorite for the fight between Fury and Usyk
Russian boxer Alexander Povetkin assessed the upcoming fight between Briton Tyson Fury and Ukrainian Alexander Usik. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Povetkin refused to name the favorite of the fight. “Fury is no fool. It is not weak, uncomfortable and smelly. Although I also really like Usik, he’s a strong boxer, but there definitely won’t be a gift for him,” he said.
Fury and Usyk are scheduled to fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion on February 17, 2024. The fight will take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
Usik has 21 victories in 21 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts.
Fury has 33 wins, one draw and no losses. He holds the World Boxing Council heavyweight championship belt.
