The era of Carlos Alejandro Alfaro Moreno as president of Barcelona SC ended this Friday, after Antonio Alvarez Henriques received the appointment that accredits him as the new Canarian president.
A source close to Alvarez (who asked that his identity not be revealed) confirmed yes UNIVERSE that the Yellow Election Court submitted the documents that make the businessman official.
Alfaro Moreno, now the former president of Toreador, was one of the club’s figures in the 1990s, and in October 2019 he took over the leadership of the club after defeating former president José Francisco Cevallos in those elections.
Last November, the Electoral Court of Barcelona SC announced its decision regarding the procedure for electing a new leader.
The list led by Antonio Alvarez Henriques was declared the winner because it was the only one qualified by the organization.
Meanwhile, Rafael Verduga, the other candidate, suffered a setback because the judge did not accept protection to register him as a candidate.
The informant also told this newspaper that more details about Alvarez’s property will be released next Wednesday. (D)
