Wrestlers Uguev, Sidakov, Kurbanov and Mamedov received licenses to perform at the Olympic Games

President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili announced the names of the first athletes admitted to the 2024 Olympic Games. His words are quoted by RBC.

“Wrestler wrestlers Zaur Uguev, Zaurbek Sidakov, Abdulla Kurbanov, Shamil Mamedov received Olympic licenses. Everyone else will have to win licenses,” Mamiashvili said.

On December 8, the International Olympic Committee announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN). Currently, eight Russian athletes have qualified for the 2024 Games.

At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games. Representatives of team sports will also miss the tournament.

At the end of February 2022, most sports organizations suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus on the recommendation of the IOC.
