The IOC allowed Russians to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has admitted Russians and Belarusians to the 2024 Olympic Games. This was reported in a release from the organization on its website.
Athletes will be able to participate in the tournament as individual neutral athletes (AIN). It is noted that at the moment only eight Russian and three Belarusian athletes have qualified. Countries will not be represented in team sports.
Athletes supporting the special operation in Ukraine will also not be allowed to participate in the tournament. In addition, athletes with connections to the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be able to compete.
At the end of February 2022, most sports organizations suspended the national teams of Russia and Belarus on the recommendation of the IOC.
