Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva showed the biggest jump in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) rankings in 2023. Tennis.com reports this.
The 16-year-old athlete rose 359 places in the ranking. At the end of 2022, it was ranked 405th, and is now at 46th. Another Russian, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, took third place in the progress ranking, rising by 308 places.
On August 2, Andreeva spoke about a possible change of citizenship. According to the tennis player, she does not plan to play for another country and will go home to Krasnoyarsk for the holidays.
The WTA and the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) did not suspend Russians from competitions. Athletes continue to compete at tournaments in a neutral status.
