Hockey agent explained the refusal of the NHL and UFC to suspend Russians

Milstein said that the NHL does not suspend Russians because it is independent

Hockey agent Dan Milstein explained the refusal of the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to suspend Russian athletes. He spoke out on the Vitya Kravchenko channel on YouTube.

The functionary connected this with the financial independence of organizations. “When pure business comes first, it turns out that sport is outside of politics. But when you have government money, naturally, then someone imposes an opinion on someone,” Milstein noted.

According to the agent, they also tried to impose their opinion on the NHL management. “But they just told everyone to go to hell, like they always do. It’s just that NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said that our guys play for the team, not for the country,” Milstein said.

Earlier, Milstein spoke about additional security measures that were introduced in relation to Russian NHL players after the start of the SVO in Ukraine. According to the American, within two or three weeks his Russian clients were provided with security by the league, together with the clubs.
