Former Russian national team player rated Zenit’s rival in the 1/16 finals of the Europa League

Former striker of the Russian national team Dmitry Bulykin evaluated the results of the draw for the 1/16 finals of the Europa League for Zenit St. Petersburg. The footballer spoke in an interview with the Lenta.ru correspondent.

“Betis is a very serious rival for the Petersburgers, it is not for nothing that this team is in the top 3 of the Spanish championship. But I estimate the chances as 50-50 and believe in the Russian club. Everything will depend on the state of the opponents in the February games, ”Bulykin said.

The player also talked about the pros that Zenit will start the confrontation with a home match. “With the support of their fans in the first game, the team has a chance to create a reserve for itself before the return leg. We will all support Zenit, Russia really needs points in the UEFA coefficient table, ”added the forward.

The draw for the Europa League playoffs took place on Monday 13 December. The first match with Betis will be played by the St. Petersburg club on 17 February. The return leg will take place in Spain in a week.
