Fetisov said that Ovechkin does not score due to psychological pressure
Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov explained the goalless streak of Russian Washington Capitals striker Alexander Ovechkin. His words are quoted by Sport Express.
Fetisov believes that the hockey player is under serious psychological pressure. He advised Ovechkin to calm down. “There is too much talk around him and the record [Уэйна] Gretzky, who is the greatest in the history of sports. I wish Sasha good luck!” – said the deputy.
On the night of December 5, Washington lost to the Arizona Coyotes with a score of 0:6. Ovechkin was unsuccessful for the seventh game in a row. This is the first time a hockey player has had such a long goalless streak since the spring of 2017.
Ovechkin ranks second on the list of the best snipers in the history of the National Hockey League (NHL) after Gretzky. The Russian has 827 goals scored. He has been playing in the NHL since 2005.
