Fighter Conor McGregor admitted that he will run for President of Ireland
Irish mixed-style fighter (MMA) Conor McGregor admitted that he will run for president of the country. The athlete spoke about his political ambitions on social networks X.
“If I run, my potential competitors would be Gerry Adam – 78 years old, Bertie Ahern – 75 years old, Enda Kenny – 74 years old. Each is inextricably linked to the politics of his party. These parties govern themselves, not the people. And there I am – 35 years old, young, active, enthusiastic, fresh blood in the game. I listen, I support, I adapt,” McGregor wrote.
The fighter noted that he has no political bias or favoritism. “It would not be me who would be in power as President, but the people of Ireland. It would be me and you,” the athlete added.
