Roman Kostomarov said that in the spring he will undergo plastic surgery on his hand
Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov spoke about the upcoming operation. His words are quoted by TASS.
The former athlete said that in the spring of 2024 he will undergo plastic surgery on his arm, and then prosthetic surgery. “Now there are a lot of different things to do, work, and you will have to go to the hospital for a month: you need to have plastic surgery, monitor the recovery and ensure that the prosthesis fits,” he shared the details.
On December 2, Kostomarov told how he felt after being hospitalized. He stated that he did not want to live in the first months after hospitalization.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia and influenza B. Due to prolonged connection to a blood oxygenation machine and a ventilator, his tissue began to die. Doctors amputated both feet of the skater, then the shins of both legs, the entire hand of his right hand and several fingers of his left.
