Akhmat player Berisha will escape punishment for jumping towards the Spartak coach
Akhmat Grozny midfielder Bernard Berisha will escape punishment for jumping towards Spartak Moscow head coach Guillermo Abascal. TASS reports this.
The head of the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Artur Grigoryants, said that the judges saw the episode and assessed it with a yellow card. “We cannot consider the appeal further, because there is no jurisdiction,” the functionary added.
The incident occurred during the match of the 17th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL), which took place on Sunday, December 3, in Grozny and ended in a victory for the hosts with a score of 2:1. After the first goal from Grozny, Berisha ran to the Spartak bench and jumped towards Abascal. The Spanish coach responded by pushing the Kosovo footballer and receiving a red card. He now faces a ban of up to four matches.
Berisha has been playing for Akhmat since 2017. This season he played 16 matches in the RPL, in which he scored one goal and made three assists.
