Russian UFC fighter aims for a rematch with Makhachev

Russian UFC fighter Tsarukyan announced his desire to have a rematch with Makhachev

Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Arman Tsarukyan is aiming for a rematch with the champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Islam Makhachev. His words are available on the promotion’s YouTube channel.

“I want my next fight to have a championship on the line. But if not, then I’m ready to fight anyone. Sooner or later I will be a champion,” Tsarukyan said. He emphasized that Makhachev is a fighter of a completely different level. Tsarukyan added that their first fight took place four years ago, so the rematch will be different.

Earlier, Tsarukyan defeated American Beneil Dariush ahead of schedule in the main fight of UFC Fight Night 233. The lightweight fight ended in a knockout in the second minute.

Tsarukyan has been competing in the UFC since April 2019. In his first fight in the promotion, he lost to Makhachev by unanimous decision. In total, he has 21 victories and three defeats.
