The IOC will make a final decision on the participation of Russians in the 2024 Olympics in March
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced the deadline for making a final decision on the admission of Russians to the 2024 Olympic Games. The head of the organization, Thomas Bach, is quoted by Inside the Games.
Bach said the issue will be included on the agenda of the Olympic summit, which will be held on December 5 in Lausanne, Switzerland. “Depending on what is heard at the Olympic Summit, the IOC Executive Committee will make a decision in the coming months, that is, at its meeting in March,” he emphasized.
On March 28, the IOC recommended that Belarusians and Russians who do not support the special operation in Ukraine be allowed to compete in neutral status. However, athletes associated with the armed forces or security forces of their countries are recommended not to be allowed to participate in tournaments.
The Olympic Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
