France denied contacts with Russian figure skaters Morozov and Eremenko
The head of the external communications department of the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG), Agathe Zhanna, appreciated the news that Russian figure skaters Annabelle Morozov and Igor Eremenko want to change their sports citizenship. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
Zhanna denied the reports, adding that the federation had no contact with Russian athletes. It is noted that the couple did not contact FFSG.
On November 29, it became known that the duo had been considering the option of joining the French national team for six months. According to RIA Novosti, the skaters will train in the USA under the guidance of Annabelle’s father, coach and choreographer Nikolai Morozov.
Morozov, 22, has Russian, French and American citizenship. She has been performing with Eremenko since February 2023.
