John Cordoba from Krasnodar was suspended for four matches for an offensive gesture
The forward of Krasnodar and the Colombian national team, John Cordoba, was disqualified for four matches. This decision was made by the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the Russian Football Union (RFU), Sport-Express reports.
The player was punished for demonstrating an offensive gesture to the referee after the final whistle of the match of the 16th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) against Ural. The Colombian was not shown a red card, as he immediately ran into the tribune area.
Cordoba has been suspended from three league matches, and the disqualification for another game is conditional. The forward will not play for Krasnodar until the end of the year.
Cordoba moved to Krasnodar in the summer of 2021. He suspended his contract with the club after the start of a special operation in Ukraine, but returned to Russia in the summer of 2022. He is currently the club’s top scorer with eight goals.
