the defender of the Paris Saint Germain, Sergio Ramos, admitted this Monday that he regrets having to face his former club, after his current team have been drawn to play against the Real Madrid for the final round of the Champions League.
“Fate is very capricious. I would have liked us to face another team”, said Ramos at an event to present a network of gyms with his name.
“All of you know the affection I have for Real Madrid, that I’m a fan of the club and that will never change. But now I have to face the present: I’m a PSG player and I’m going to defend my team and do everything so that the team can overcome the last 16”, said the former captain of the merengue team.
“It’s going to be a very difficult game, we’ll see what happens. For football lovers it is a great duel. It’s up to me to defend my interests and PSG was the one who bet on me”, added Ramos, after a draw that had to be repeated due to “technical problems”, according to Uefa.
“When I got on the plane, United was a team I liked to face. After the result of the draw didn’t count, that happened. The draw is what it is, we have Madrid ahead of us”, added Ramos, whose team should face Madrid Manchester United according to the first draw, which ended up being void.
“It’s a mixture of feelings. I didn’t want this confrontation [contra o Real Madrid], but on the other hand, returning to the Bernabéu, my home, is something very gratifying, especially for me in sentimental terms”, he concluded.
