Khabib Nurmagomedov posted a video of his father training Islam Makhachev
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov published a video in which his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov trains Islam Makhachev. The ex-fighter showed the video on Instagram (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
In the video, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov throws Makhachev with a wrestling move. “The best fighter in the world and my father,” Khabib wrote under the post.
On October 21, Makhachev defended his UFC lightweight title for the second time, knocking out Australian Alexander Volkanovski. In total, the 32-year-old Russian won 25 victories in his career, losing only once.
Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away in July 2020. He coached his son throughout his career. In October 2020, Khabib retired from the sport after his third lightweight title defense, announcing that he would not fight without his father.
