General Director of “Spartak” Evgeny Melezhikov commented on the possible change of the head coach in the team. His words are reported by “Championship.com”.
Melezhikov noted that the future of the current head coach of the team, Rui Vitoria, will be discussed during a meeting of the Spartak board of directors. It will summarize the performance of the red and white in the first part of the season and, accordingly, evaluate the work of Vitoria.
The final match of the autumn part of the championship against Sochi was lost to Spartak under the guidance of a Portuguese specialist. However, the red and white played successfully in the Europa League, guaranteeing their participation in the playoffs of the tournament.
Earlier on December 13, Spartak fans urged the owner of the club, Leonid Fedun, not to fire Vitoria. The fans’ fears are caused by rumors about the imminent arrival of the Italian specialist Paolo Vanoli to the team.
