The Pichincha teams’ argument was as follows: “Considering climate, security and facilities for our fans, appropriate arrangements have been made for (the matches) to be scheduled at 4.30pm.”
The letter of the clubs is signed by Diego Castro, manager of the Special Football Commission U; and Santiago Morales, general manager of those from Valle.
The meetings are scheduled for Sundays, December 10 and 17. The first match will be at the Banco Guayaquil stadium in Independiente, and the second leg at the Rodrigo Paz stadium.
With one day left (in a 3-point dispute) until the end of the regular season, Liga has a 4-point difference in the overall standings: 59 to Independiente’s 55. (D)
