Figure skater Kamila Valieva won the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow with two falls
Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva won the sixth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow. RIA Novosti reports this.
In the free program, the 17-year-old athlete fell twice, scored 144.95 points and won with a total of 226.22 points. Veronika Yametova was in second place with 212.75 points, Sofya Muravyova was third with 210.25 points.
On November 10, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) completed hearings on Valieva’s case. The court announced that the final decision in the athlete’s case will be made in January 2024.
At the 2022 Olympic Games, Valieva won gold in the team competition, but the Russian team was not awarded due to the doping scandal involving her. Traces of a prohibited drug were found in the skater’s sample from December 2021.
