Malkin said that Ovechkin is the best in terms of goals, and Crosby is the best player in history
Russian Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin compared club forward Sidney Crosby with Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin. The Athletic reports this.
“Ovi is probably the best in history in terms of goals. Sid is undoubtedly the best player of all time,” Malkin said. He also added that both hockey players are still great.
On November 24, Ovechkin said that together with Crosby he saved the National Hockey League (NHL). “Now a new generation has arrived, and I believe that we are already old people. But we saved the league,” said the Russian.
Ovechkin has been playing in the NHL since 2005, and throughout his overseas career he has played for Washington. Together with the team, he won the Stanley Cup in 2018. Crosby made his NHL debut the same season as Ovechkin. The Canadian is a three-time Stanley Cup winner with Pittsburgh.
