Efimova’s coach assessed the impact of Russia’s suspension on the results of foreigners

Coach Efimov said that without Russia the results in women’s breaststroke are low

Andrei Efimov, father and coach of swimmer Yulia Efimova, assessed the impact of Russia’s exclusion from international tournaments on the results of foreign athletes. Match TV reports this.

“As far as I know, there are not very high results in women’s breaststroke now. Maybe because competition drops when not all countries compete,” Efimov noted. He also added that Russia has always been a strong irritant for swimmers from other countries.

In April 2022, the International Swimming Federation (FINA) banned Russians from participating in competitions under its auspices. In February this year, the organization announced the transfer of the 2025 World Aquatics Championships from Russia.

Efimova is a six-time world champion. She also has a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London and two silver medals at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
