Irina Viner compared gymnasiums in the USA with vegetable warehouses
President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Irina Viner compared the conditions for training athletes in Russia and the USA. TASS reports this.
According to her, the Americans are much inferior in this aspect. “If you saw their halls, they are terrible. I have one very famous girl who wanted to see how it is in America. We arrived and were horrified. Their conditions are terrible, I saw their hall, we call it a vegetable base,” said Wiener.
In October, Wiener spoke out against Russian participation in the 2024 Olympics under a neutral flag. She noted that at the Games in Tokyo in 2021 and Beijing in 2022, athletes were at least allowed to use Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Concerto No. 1 instead of the anthem.
On November 10, the International Gymnastics Federation revealed the conditions for admitting Russians to international tournaments. Domestic athletes will be able to compete only in a neutral status. At the same time, team members should not have connections with the army or law enforcement agencies of the country, and they should not speak out in support of the Northern Military District.
