CSKA forward Fedor Chalov said that he really misses the Champions League
CSKA forward Fedor Chalov appreciated the absence of Russian clubs in the Champions League. His words are quoted by KP-Sport.
“I miss the Champions League very much. When you play there, you don’t appreciate it so much. And when you’re no longer there, and you turn on the TV, different thoughts immediately pop into your head, it’s unclear whether you’ll be able to be there again,” said the footballer. He noted that the desire to play in the Champions League motivates him and makes him work.
On November 20, Chalov won the “Gentleman of the Year” award. The main criteria for determining the winner were the candidate’s position in the team, his attitude towards opponents and referees, as well as towards fans and journalists.
On February 28, 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) excluded Russian national teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not compete in European competitions, and the Russian national team has lost the opportunity to fight for access to the finals of major tournaments.
